Description

Seeking (2) two Speech and Language Pathologists for Chino Valley Unified School District for the 2026-2027 school year.  This is a full-time position with benefits.  The Chino Valley Unified School District is on a 4-day work week Monday through Thursday.  Salary below includes $16,500 from Classroom Site Fund.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under indirect supervision, the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) works with students to navigate challenges in speech, language, communication, and swallowing. You will be responsible for assessing individual needs and developing tailored treatment programs that foster growth, confidence, and functional improvement for every student.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assessment & Diagnosis: Identify and evaluate developmental speech and communication disorders, as well as swallowing difficulties resulting from congenital conditions or acquired injuries.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to meet specific student goals.
  • Progress Monitoring: Maintain detailed records and reports, ensuring all procedural safeguards and HIPAA/confidentiality requirements are met.
  • Collaboration & Training: Provide guidance and training to medical, nursing, and educational staff on speech therapy techniques and objectives.
  • Resource Management: Manage supplies and equipment; ensure tools are maintained and sanitized in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Safety: Adhere to all safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Adaptability: Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as needed to support student success.

 

QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Clinical Insight: Proven ability to observe, assess, and document student symptoms, reactions, and progress.
  • Communication: Ability to translate complex medical information and test results into "plain language" for families and caregivers.
  • Compliance: Knowledge of accreditation, certification, and state-specific regulatory requirements.
  • Judgment: Strong independent judgment skills and the ability to manage sensitive, confidential information with integrity.
  • ASHA CCCs: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Bilingualism: Proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Organization: Excellence in maintaining precise and timely student records.

 

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Experience: At least 6 months of directly related experience (Clinical Fellowship Year candidates may be considered).
  • Licensure: * State of Arizona Speech and Language Pathologist Certificate.
  • Licensure from the Arizona Department of Health Services.
  • IVP Fingerprint Card: Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to travel between school sites if assigned as an itinerant therapist.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and move through classrooms frequently.
  • Occasional lifting of therapeutic equipment or assisting with student positioning.
