POSITION SUMMARY:
This position serves as both the Food Service Coordinator and MIPS (Medicare) Coordinator.
FOOD SERVICE COORDINATOR
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Acts as the Food Service Liaison as defined by the Arizona Department of Education.
- Maintains necessary records (e.g., production, fiscal, personnel) and ensure record keeping is completed in timely, accurate fashion and in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Ensures compliance with local, state and federal guidelines.
- Administers and oversees the district’s free and reduced-price meals program observing procedures of confidentiality in administering the program.
- Prepares and maintains all necessary reports as required by state and local authorities. This includes, but not limited to, monthly claims and annual site applications.
- Establishes, develops, maintains and updates filing system for the department. Retrieves information from files when needed.
- Act as a liaison with other departments or schools and outside agencies. Handles confidential and non-routine information and explains policies when necessary.
- Leads and assists with ADE audits of the NSLP program.
- Performs other duties as required.

MIPS (Medicare) COORDINATOR
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- MIPS Data Management which includes tracking and managing performance data related to quality measures, cost, improvement activities, and promoting interoperability.
- Preparing and submitting data to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in compliance with MIPS requirements.
- Assisting with the development and implementation of strategies to improve performance on quality measures, cost, and interoperability.
- Conducting regular EHR audits to ensure staff are completing tasks according to established guidelines.
- Monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) like HEDIS, STAR and RAF scores to ensure adherence to MIPS and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintaining accurate records of all quality assurance/compliance activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a high level of interpersonal skill to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
- Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Must have knowledge of secretarial, office administrative procedures, and knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment, at a level generally acquired through 1+ years of related experience.
- Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software.
- Some analytical ability is required in order to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work.
- Work requires attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Regular attendance is an essential job function as it demonstrates dependability toward the performance of job duties.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: (one of the following)
- High School diploma or equivalent, in conjunction with 3 years of school nutrition experience preferred; OR
- Associates degree or equivalent, with an academic major in specific areas and at least 1 year of school nutrition experience preferred; OR
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
