One (1) part-time Assistant Greenhouse Worker needed at Chino Valley High School. This position is a paid student internship for up to 6 months and 10 hours per week. This position does not include benefits.

POSITION SUMMARY:
- This position involves maintaining the CVHS greenhouse and greenhouse yard directly supervised by AgriScience Instructor / Greenhouse Manager. Maximum of 10 hours per week.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure safety procedures are followed and personal protective equipment is utilized
- Maintain active growing environment in both greenhouses
- Learning and operating Environmental Controller Systems
- Water plants as needed
- Fix irrigation lines as needed
- Plant and maintain growth of plant crop
- Calculate and apply Fertilizer
- Organize greenhouse storage facilities
- Maintain area surrounding greenhouses
- Weed eat, mow, weed outside area of greenhouse
- Clip and trellis plants
- Prune plants as needed
- Pick up approved parts and equipment from stores
- Harvest, package and sell produce and plants
- Identify pests/diseases and perform Integrated Pest Management
- Track growth of plants and analyze growth patterns
- Create order lists for materials, plants, seeds, supplies
- Maintain calendar of scheduled growth and application practices
- Maintain greenhouse structure and facilities
QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 16 years or older.
- Must be able to obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- OSHA-10 Agriculture
- Continuously follows safety procedures & utilizes personal protective equipment.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills; listening, following directions, and speaking
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. is required.
- Physical capabilities to conduct continuous manual labor.
- Physical capabilities to operate greenhouse machinery and small motor equipment machinery.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Completed or enrolled in 3rd year of AgriScience program at CVHS
- Knowledge and related experience of horticulture and greenhouse systems desired
- Experience following safety procedures.
