Description

Seeking (1) one Assistant Principal for the Chino Valley High School for the 2024-2025 school year.  This is a full-time 12 month position with benefits.  The Chino Valley Unified School District is on a 4-day work week Monday through Thursday.

REPORTS TO:  Principal                                                                 FLSA STATUS: Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Assists in the administration and supervision of the school program providing a safe and effective learning environment for the students and staff.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Principal in carrying out policies, regulations and requirements of the Governing Board, the Superintendent and/or his/her designee.

  • Provides leadership that will result in an academically challenging, orderly, positive learning environment.

  • Establishes and maintains procedures for the resolution of conflict in an effort to maintain a high level of staff morale.

  • Assists to define and disseminate information about school disciplinary policies and procedures to parents, students, staff and community.

  • Establishes and maintains a safe and secure learning environment by upholding and enforcing behavioral expectations for all students.

  • Establishes and maintains high expectations of student attendance by tracking and reporting attendance data to the school's Resource Officer as well as conducting attendance appeals.
  • Creates, implements, and oversees testing schedule as it pertains to mandatory state testing.
  • Works closesly with the district's Student Data Systems Analyst in tracking and reporting attendance, discipline, and test data.
  • Assists in the screening, selection, and performance evaluation of certified and classified personnel.

  • Maintains a commitment to ongoing growth in self and others, supporting and participating in district and site professional growth programs.

  • Assists the school community and the public in their awareness of the site goals and objectives and the strategies for achieving them. 

  • QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid Arizona Principal Certificate.
  • Must have or be able to obtain an Arizona IVP (Fingerprint Clearance) Card.

 

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in educational administration, instructional technology or a closely related field.
  • Three (3) years of successful teaching experience, administrative experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) speaking is preferred.
  • Knowledge of AIA (Arizona Interscholastic Association) as it relates to high school sports participaton and athletic eligibilty is preferred.

  

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

  • Work Environment involves no physical risks or hazardous conditions.
  • Work environment involves slight physical risks that require basic safety precautions (safety glasses, lab coats, rubber gloves etc.)
  • Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following detailed safety precautions (such as wearing respirators, handling hazardous materials, and working with industrial machinery.)
