POSITION SUMMARY:
- We are looking for a skilled maintenance worker to perform upkeep tasks such as repairs and preventive maintenance. You will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensure facilities are tidy and functional. HVAC experience is required.
- Being reliable and having a solid technical knowledge with experience.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs building HVAC duties.
- Performs minor building, plumbing, electrical, and painting repairs as necessary.
- Implement preventive maintenance measures.
- Respond quickly in event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel, and follow safety protocol.
- Complete inspections of the facility with the Director.
- Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations.
- Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues.
- Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm)
- Install appliances and equipment.
- Perform other maintenance duties as requested.
- Maintains an inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Strives constantly to promote the safety, health, and comfort of the students and employees.
QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Any trade certifications may result in a higher hourly rate.
- Materials, supplies, and practices essential to facility maintenance.
- Use and care of equipment related to the care of buildings.
- Hazards and safety methods related to maintenance and operations.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to climb and work at ladder heights not greater than 30’.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. is required.
- Recognize and correct inappropriate behavior.
- Instructs others in the methods and operation of equipment.
EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE and OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent training (GED).
- Journeyman status in one of the standard trades. Other combinations of experience and education, which meet the minimum requirements, may be substituted.
- Current Arizona IVP clearance card.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work Environment involves no physical risks or hazardous conditions.
Work environment involves slight physical risks that require basic safety precautions (safety glasses, lab coats, rubber gloves etc.)
X Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following detailed safety precautions (such as wearing respirators, handling hazardous materials, and working with industrial machinery.)
